The Muse represents the very thread of what it means to live in the city of Chicago.
Using a combination of plaster impasto, paint with non-traditional mediums, I set out to capture the essence of the city through my lenses.
Within the tapestry of the weathered and distressed bricks, lives a vibrant culture of artists, musicians, and performers. Gender doesn't matter, and oftentimes it is an indistinguishable construct. The beauty is found in the people that make life their own, contributing to Chicago's rich cultural history.
The rough, cracked surface surrounding the figure contrasts with the smoothness of the face, creating a dynamic interplay between fragility and strength.
